And the majestic tree stands,
Still as life,
As the chaos unfolds,
Bustling in and bustling out —
Taking it all in,
Content in its disposition,
Content, and beautiful,
Growing all the while,
Taking in the sights,
Taking in everything.

And the majestic tree stands,
Still as life,
As the chaos unfolds,
Bustling in and bustling out —
Taking it all in,
Content in its disposition,
Content, and beautiful,
Growing all the while,
Taking in the sights,
Taking in everything.
Feverish energy
Unbounded urges
All of life’s passion —
The raucousness of youth
The restlessness of hormones
The mind in daze
The heart on fire
The almost-touches, the almost-grazes
A glorious pot of burning gold
Bursting to swathe you, all over
In gold, in silver
In silver, and in gold;
Swimming in the glory
Never felt so good.
The floor has been set.
The music has been put on.
The participants await, in eager anticipation of the back-and-forth
Hoping to be sometimes playful,
Sometimes challenging.
An outstretched hand
A swirl and a twirl
Counting the other to be ready for the counter-move,
The one that’s necessary, for completion’s sake.
They look to inspire the best in each other,
And, if need be,
They’re quick to make up for one another.
You are merely a manifestation of life, of energy, of spirit. That’s all you really are.
You got three choices –
The world exists so that it can watch you giving yourself meaning and purpose. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Don’t ever take yourself too seriously or worry about every single thing you’ve done. Your decisions are more or less left to chance, and what you’ve made your mind up for, at the moment, is what you’ve made your mind up for. They weren’t anymore in your control than they had been.
We are but, merely, creatures of existence, with no sole or bigger purpose. We are all too small in the world. We can only make use of what existence has provided us with, and seek divinity and blessing in that. That is the ulterior purpose of life.
As he swallowed the last bit of pie, he was transported to a whole new world—a world devoid of judgement, a world full of possibilities. He marvelled at what was on offer. He could not bring himself to believe it. And yet, all he had to do was believe.
You’ve got your dreams and your zeals,
Your adorations and infatuations,
And things you’ve got to do,
Just for their sake;
But is that all you crave,
Is that all you want –
Do you not put your heart out on the line,
And perhaps enjoy a little bit of mellow,
A little bit of tenderness,
In the form of a human
Do you not crave a shared joy,
Or perhaps a fulfilling contentment,
In the arms of a lover
Do you not, for once, look in front of you,
And think about the possibilities,
Of what could be –
Or is it just the things you’ve got to do,
Just for their own sake.
Routine –
The rigmarole of routine,
The precision of routine,
The familiarity of routine,
The routine of routine,
Tell me –
Do you see its derisive countenance,
Or its indulgent charm?
As I type this, I am aware of my breathing. I am aware of the sensation of my fingers on the keypad, of the aftertaste of bitter coffee inside my mouth. I am aware of the shade that a friend threw at me and how that made me feel. I am aware of my anxiety for my date tomorrow. I am aware that these things are not me, and that my thoughts and feelings are not me.
I’ve consciously made it a point to not let these get to me , to the core of my being. I’ve learnt to differentiate my thoughts and feelings from myself. I’ve learnt that it is an imagined reality, after all.
Healing –
May your pain humble you,
And put you on a path,
Where you find comfort and solace,
In life around you.
They were miles apart, her and him
He kept her going,
And him, she;
They were the very fabric of each other’s existence.
